Lone Jack Education Foundation

In Lone Jack, Missouri, the Lone Jack Education Foundation is lighting the way for students through creativity, opportunity, and support. With a small but mighty team of 10 volunteers, the foundation is dedicated to creating what they call “light bulb moments” for students, those sparks of excitement when learning comes alive.

The Foundation helps fund educational opportunities that might not otherwise be possible. Twice a year, they award teacher grants, giving educators the resources they need to bring innovative projects into their classrooms. They also provide two graduating seniors with $500 scholarships each year, helping them take their next steps in higher education with confidence.

For the past two years, the Save-A-Label program has played an important role in supporting these efforts. Parents in the community collect Best Choice Family of Brands product labels, most often from their shopping trips to Price Chopper, and donate them to the Foundation. Those labels are then turned into dollars that help fund classroom grants and scholarships.

“We use the donations from Save-A-Label to provide exciting education or ‘light bulb’ moments for our students,” Shannon Chura, Vice Chair, explained. “It’s such an easy way to earn extra funds that directly impact our kids and teachers.”

Though small in number, the Lone Jack Education Foundation has an outsized impact, fueling innovation in classrooms and inspiring students to dream big.
